Accruent held its User Forum user conference September 29-October 1 in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia. Attended by nearly 100 users representing several industries we serve – education, healthcare, corporate and the public sector – it was an opportunity to share best industry and product practices, as well as make an exciting company announcement.

Our welcoming reception hummed with excitement as we greeted everyone at the iconic Fairmont Empress Hotel located along the h

arbor. It was not only our opening night, but also our first chance to celebrate our company’s 20th anniversary with a large group of our customers. We celebrated over drinks and hors d’oeuvres, including special anniversary cookies.

We gave a sneak peek of what’s to come during Wednesday morning’s keynote speech, including our unveiling of the new AssetConnect product, a solution that links capital planning and facilities management data for better-informed investment decisions. Whether a customer uses VFA.facility to create strategic capital plans, TMS to improve their regulatory compliance across their healthcare system or a CMMS to automate their facilities management, their specific needs may vary but all share an ultimate goal: to reduce costs and operate their organization more efficiently. This was a focus that tied our sessions together, from customer-led presentations like “Implementing Data Standardization” by Doug King of Vancouver Coastal Health Authority to discussion panels on topics like sustainability and the evolution of the mobile workforce.

Victoria was not only a gorgeous city to host the conference in, but it also provided the perfect venue for our Wednesday night social event. Staff and customers walked over to Royal British Columbia Museum for an evening of jazz music, networking, several buffets featuring fresh seafood and access to the natural history museum’s exhibitions.

Thursday included a collaborative presentation on the future of Accruent solutions, where John Stockton, VP of Product Management, and Bill Olsen, VP of Engineering, fostered a conversation between customers on where they’d like to see the direction of our products head in. The feedback was we received gave us great ideas for both current developments as well as ideas for the future. The day progressed with presentations and roundtable discussions, and culminated in an Executive Q&A and raffle giveaway with a grand prize of an Apple watch.

User Forum was a success thanks to the hard work of our presenters and customers, as well as our Platinum Sponsor ACAD-Plus.
