Accruent was thrilled to continue VFA’s user conference, Connections, May 3-5 at the Seaport Boston Hotel in VFA’s hometown. Attended by both Accruent and VFA product customers, it was an exciting opportunity for collaboration across verticals and to further integrate VFA into Accruent’s family.
The event kicked off with a keynote speech by CEO Mark Friedman on Monday morning, followed by demo sessions, product overviews and thought leadership topics presented by customers. Along with all presenters during the conference, we appreciate Kaiser Permanente sharing their experience on how they use capital planning across its large, distributed portfolio, and Iowa State University for describing their successes of incorporating new energy sources into the campus energy portfolio. CBRE – Microsoft also did a great job of sharing their insights on how it enabled an Energy Smart Campus across 100+ buildings.
We had an amazing evening at Fenway Park, with beautiful weather and a great view from our private deck. We even got on the Jumbotron! Although the Red Sox lost the game, a few of us crossed off seeing the Green Monster from our bucket lists. We appreciate AppTree for sponsoring the event.
Tuesday kicked off with a breakfast keynote by John McGee, CTO at Viridity Energy and former IFMA Chair, on how to integrate the latest sustainability trends with an organization’s capital planning and facilities management initiatives. Our VP of Engineering, Bill Olsen, offered a glimpse of the future of our products, followed by a roundtable discussion and a closing session, with an Executive Q&A and raffle with a grand prize of an Apple watch!
All of the presenters worked hard to provide a variety of relevant content, ranging from practical applications to insightful thought leadership. We were thrilled to see the synergy between VFA and Accruent customers as they discussed shared organizational challenges and worked together to solve them. Our demo lab was also a big hit during the scheduled breaks!
Great communication was key during Connections, and we appreciate the valuable feedback that everyone provided through session surveys and the event’s mobile app. The mobile app served as an interactive program guide that could fit in attendees’ pocket, giving them the ability to “favorite” sessions, easily look up speaker info and create a personalized agenda. It enabled attendees to further engage with the conference, which in turn provides great insight into what they enjoyed for future planning!
We had a great time, and we look forward to poring over customer feedback to make the next conference even better! Registration is open now for The User Forum which will be held September 29-October 1, 2015 in Victoria, British Columbia. See you there!
