Last week, we had the pleasure of spending time with some of our valued retail customers for the eighth annual Retail Executive Summit. Held at the Muirfield Village Golf Club, we had three fun days filled with thought-provoking presentations, roundtable discussions and, of course, plenty of golf.

Since 2007, the Retail Executive Summit has provided a unique opportunity for our retail customers, from VPs of Real Estate from big box retailers to Chief Development Officers of restaurant groups, to share industry best practices and for us to get their feedback on our company direction. Special to this year, we were pleased to have Dana Telsey, CEO of the Telsey Advisory Group, join us as our keynote speaker. Ms. Telsey has followed over 100 companies during her 28-year career and is the only U.S.-based analyst to have provided complete analysis of the European luxury goods sector. The multi-award winner delighted us over dinner with a presentation on several topics, including macroeconomic consumer trends, key retail strategies and sector updates, and the overall outlook on retail.

We also enjoyed hearing from Lee Peterson on Wednesday, an Executive Vice President WD Partners, who spoke about their recent research on the three waves of American retailing. The rest of the day was filled with events, including an Accruent update from our founder and CEO, Mark Friedman, breakout sessions covering topics like sustainability and going digital, and a panel discussion on best practices around site selection.

Thursday also included sessions as well as our pinnacle event: the Golf Summit Championship. Not only was it the perfect opportunity to build relationships, but it is also an amazing experience to play the course that is home of the Memorial Tournament and the 2013 President’s Cup. Situated on 220 acres, Golf Digest has named the course one of America’s 100 greatest.

Events like the Retail Executive Summit are always one of my favorites, because it’s quality time that we get to spend with our customers.
