Accruent held its Insights user conference April 27-30 at the Hilton in downtown Austin, just miles away from the company’s headquarters. Attended by more than 200 users representing all industries served – retail, higher education, public sector, corporate, and wireless – it was the largest Insights conference to date and one that sparked great collaboration among users and Accruent employees.
This year’s conference theme was “Make it Easy,” a driving vision for Accruent that is the basis for the company's goals and objectives for 2014. Accruent executives gave a sneak peek of what’s to come during Monday morning’s keynote speech, including robust mobile functionality for ease-of-use while out in the field, development on a more user-friendly interface across several products, as well as enhancements to online help and Pro Tips training videos.
Whether a customer uses Accruent to manage construction for a major retail chain, FAMIS to maintain grounds for a university, or 360Facility to manage properties for a Fortune 500 company, their specific needs may vary but ultimately share an ultimate goal: reduce costs and operate their organization more efficiently. Insights 2014 was an ideal ground for everyone to share best practices and think of innovative ways to face new and ongoing challenges across industries.
As Accruent continues to focus on transitioning to the Cloud and making its software platform world class, change is inevitable. Throughout the conference, many of Accruent's presenters focused on what these changes will be and sought valuable feedback from our customers about workflow processes down to details like the color of required fields. Customer-led information sessions, panels, and an Executive Q&A cultivated rich discussion and ideas.
Companies from the wireless industry, an industry known to be particularly sensitive to disclosure of information and best practices, shared great information with others. This year, not only was there a strong level of discussion during and after sessions, but some of the top telecom players sat on a panel discussing specific (and unexpected) ways their company has seen ROI from Accruent's Siterra solution.
"It's really awesome to see two program management folks from a carrier and a tower company, both Tier 1, talking about how they set up project templates," said Chris Dalia, Accruent Product Marketing Manager. "The level of collective synergy we've been seeing definitely exceeded our expectations."
As always, Insights had a great showing from higher education, with more than 120 attendees of some of Accruent’s collaborative customers represented. In addition, our higher education partners conducted over half of this week's presentations on FAMIS, Accruent's leading software for facility maintenance management. These sessions have once again provided compelling content for all conference attendees, and showcased the thought leadership and expertise of this group.
Our conference was also just in time for Accruent’s exciting unveiling of our new Project Management solution, with well-attended sessions held to go over the solutions existing features and our plans for its future. The customer interaction we had will be instrumental in its continuing development, as our primary focus is to be a valuable partner – a partner that will help our customers meet their real estate, lease management, and facilities needs, help find answers to questions raised as markets evolve, and ensure that our solution is smart for our customers and their organizations.
Customers were happy to talk about how Accruent products have already addressed their challenges and provided cost savings during case study interviews. When asked what Accruent could do to make their experience better, several customers said it was efforts like our Insights conference that strengthened our partnerships and excited them to continue using our products.
Beyond the sessions, we hope our customers enjoyed being immersed in Accruent culture of work hard, play hard. Each evening was punctuated with fun social hours, and on Tuesday we pulled out all the stops for a Casino Royale night complete with blackjack tables, a tasty buffet dinner, and raffle prizes.
Insights was a great success thanks to the hard work of all our presenters and our engaged customers. Our employees look forward to Insights as a chance to meet with our customers to discuss best practices and future developments. We were pleased to hear that customers feel they are returning to their organizations with the knowledge and tools that will empower them to make strategic decisions in reaching their operational goals and optimizing their growth with Accruent.
