This position will provide overall direction, guidance and definition of an enterprise SOA based architecture that effectively supports Accruent’s business strategy. Responsibilities include researching, analyzing, designing, proposing, and delivering a Java based SOA framework and solution that is appropriate for our business and technology strategies. The person will conceive solutions, build consensus, and sell/ execute those solutions. He or she will be involved in all aspects of the project life cycle, from the initial visioning, through the requirements analysis, design, POC, and implementation.

Additional responsibilities include establishment of the overall architectural view, identification of major system interfaces, development of module reuse on an enterprise wide scale, and identification of existing architecture weaknesses and opportunities for process re-engineering, showing the cost/benefit analysis. He or she will perform systems analysis and design, system modeling, performance modeling, integration planning and third party component selection to ensure architectural consistency and coherence within the entire product suite.

The person chosen will have significant technical expertise in web services, database/data mart, networking, security, operating systems, systems software, internalization, infrastructure engineering, and enterprise application architecture. He or she will also be responsible for educating and guiding others on architectural standards, principles, methodology and trends.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a minimum of 8-10 years of object oriented programming experience, with very strong Java /J2EE engineering skills.  A good understanding of .Net technology is a plus. He or she should also have comprehensive SQL Server/Oracle and UML expertise, proven SOA design and implementation, and a scaled deployment background. This person should have worked with all levels/layers of Java/J2EE/database applications, and have excellent collaborative skills. The person needs to be a self- starter and work both independently and as a team member. He or she will interface with a Java and .Net development team, product management, Sales, and Professional Services organizations, as well as the executive team. It is essential that he or she has excellent written and presentation skills. A BS/CS degree is required, and a MS is preferred.
