The Evolution of IWMS: A Strategic Approach to Real Estate & Facilities

Gartner’s Jack Heine and Accruent’s Mark Friedman look at the drivers of the shift to a more strategic approach to IWMS, the benefits of making this shift and the critical role that IWMS can play.

The IWMS Market is experiencing unprecedented change. General market trends such as globalization and sustainability coupled with a challenging economic environment are driving organizations to take a second look at a significant area of enterprise spend – their real estate and facilities. They are moving away from tactical point solutions that solve individual problems and toward strategic enterprise solutions that can provide a “location system of record”. These solutions help organizations link the use and purpose of their real estate and facilities to their business plan. This alignment helps organizations ‘flex’ their portfolio to quickly adapt to changes, and ensure the decisions they are making with regard to their real estate and facilities are supporting overall strategic goals.

In this program, two of the leading experts in this field – Gartner Research Vice President Jack Heine and Accruent CEO Mark Friedman – look at the drivers of this shift to a more strategic approach, the benefits of making this shift and the critical role that IWMS can play.
