CMMS Integration to Maximize Business Value

CMMS Maintenance Connection

On-Demand Webinar.

A standalone Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) can add value to an organization by reducing downtime, extending equipment life, accelerating service requests and improving planning and productivity. However, when the CMMS is integrated with other systems and software solutions, the CMMS value is increased by enhancing data visibility across the organization, overcoming departmental silos and streamlining cross-departmental workflows.

Integration can occur at many different levels. For example, a CMMS that integrates to an electronically managed drawing and document system means that asset reference materials are automatically available to the technician. This can enhance safety and improve labor efficiency. In another instance, integration with an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system can exchange labor, inventory or other key data to streamline workflows and maximize the value of both systems.

Trends to embrace integration are shown in the graphic above from a recent Aberdeen group study. These and other connectivity initiatives like IoT will continue to be important for organizations looking to improve maintenance performance. Consider IoT applications which are about connectivity. Integration of vibration monitoring is a great example of data that can be used in a CMMS to trigger predictive maintenance.
